How much does a yoga retreat cost in the UK? For a weekend of two or three nights with meals and classes included, most people pay between £350 and £700 each. A simple farmhouse weekend sharing a room can come in under £300; a five-day luxury programme with treatments runs to £2,500 and beyond. The single biggest lever on the price is not the yoga at all: it is whether you share a room.

The brackets below come from the retreats we have checked for our other yoga pages, refreshed against operators’ own booking pages on 28 October 2026. Retreat prices move with the season and the date, so treat every figure as a “from” price and confirm it on the operator’s site before you pay a deposit.

UK yoga retreat prices at a glance

Type of retreat Typical length Typical price per person
Simple farmhouse or barn weekend, sharing 2 to 3 nights Under £300
Organiser-run weekend with meals 2 to 3 nights £350 to £700
Charitable or centre-run retreat 4 to 6 nights £345 to £575
Teacher-led weekend at a smart country house 2 to 3 nights £550 to £800
Spa hotel yoga package 1 night Around £210 to £450
Luxury programme with treatments 4 to 5 nights £2,500 to £3,500 or more

The £350 to £700 band for an organiser-run weekend matches the estimate the booking site BookRetreats gives for a three-day programme with shared accommodation, meals and yoga.

Real prices we checked

  • Our Retreat, Somerset: a two-night yoga retreat in a farmhouse, with daily yoga, meals and snacks included, from £595 per person, according to Our Retreat’s Somerset page. Twin and triple shared rooms are offered alongside private doubles; massages and one-to-one treatments cost extra, and travel is not included.
  • Sharpham Trust, Devon: a four-night meditation retreat at The Barn in January 2027 is listed at £345 to £450, and its six-night Barn retreats in 2026 were listed at £445 to £575. These are mindfulness rather than yoga retreats, but they show how far a charitable centre stretches the money: under £100 a night with food and teaching.
  • Deighton Lodge, near York: one of the cheapest all-inclusive yoga weekends we know of. Its lowest weekend rate, based on two sharing, has started under £300, with meals, a massage and the hot tub included. Our affordable yoga retreats page lists it with other options under £500.
  • Spa hotels: at Hoar Cross Hall and Ragdale Hall, one-night packages started at £210 to £350 a person in October 2026, before any discount. Our overnight spa breaks page breaks down what the cheaper packages leave out.

What you are paying for

The room

Most operators sell the same retreat at two or more prices, and the difference is the bedroom. A dorm or twin-share is the cheapest; a private en-suite double, or a single for a solo guest, is the most expensive. On a weekend, choosing a shared room is often the difference between staying under £400 and going over £600. If you are going alone, check the room setup before you book: some retreats only offer twin-share, and a few charge a single supplement for a room to yourself.

The venue

A converted barn costs less to run than a listed country house with a spa, and the price reflects it. Location matters too: retreats within easy reach of London and the South East tend to cost more than equivalents in Wales, Yorkshire or the far South West.

What is included

Read the inclusions line by line. The common split:

  • Usually included: accommodation, all yoga and meditation sessions, meals and snacks.
  • Often extra: massages and other treatments, one-to-one sessions, alcohol, and transfers from the station.
  • Rarely included: travel to the retreat.

A retreat that looks £100 cheaper can cost more once you add a massage you would have had anyway.

Length

A weekend usually means two nights; a “three-day” retreat is normally Friday to Sunday. Five-day and week-long retreats cost more in total but often less per night, because the set-up costs are spread over more days.

The teacher

At many UK retreats the teacher hires a venue and sets their own price, so two weekends in the same house can cost quite different amounts. Our guide to yoga teacher accreditation in the UK explains what the letters after a teacher’s name mean, which is worth knowing when you are paying for their time.

The costs people forget

  • Travel. Rail fares to rural Devon, Cornwall or the Lake District can add a large share again to a weekend retreat. Ask whether the operator collects from the nearest station.
  • Deposits and cancellation. Many retreats take a non-refundable deposit and the balance a few weeks before arrival. Check what happens if you cancel or the teacher does. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is worth considering.
  • Kit. Most retreats lend mats, blocks and bolsters, but check before you buy anything.
  • Abroad. If you are comparing with a retreat overseas, flights and transfers change the maths completely. Our UK yoga retreat vs abroad page works through it, and if you book flights and a retreat together, see what ATOL protection covers.

How to pay less

  1. Share a room. The biggest saving on almost every retreat.
  2. Go midweek or out of season. Some venues run cheaper dates between November and March, excluding Christmas and New Year.
  3. Look at charitable and centre-run retreats. Places such as Sharpham run on a not-for-profit basis and some offer bursaries.
  4. Book a day retreat first. If you are unsure whether you will enjoy a full weekend, a single day with yoga and lunch costs a fraction of the price.
  5. Check what is included, not the headline price. A slightly dearer retreat that includes a massage and station pick-up can work out cheaper.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a weekend yoga retreat cost in the UK? Most organiser-run weekends with meals and yoga cost £350 to £700 per person. A simple shared-room farmhouse weekend can cost under £300, and a teacher-led weekend at a smart country house £550 to £800.

How much does a luxury yoga retreat cost in the UK? A four or five-day luxury programme with treatments, all meals and full scheduling costs roughly £2,500 to £3,500 per person, with low-season dates at the lower end. Our luxury yoga retreats page names the places that operate at that level.

Why are some yoga retreats so expensive? Mainly the venue and the room: a private en-suite in a country house with a spa costs far more than a twin-share in a barn. Treatments, small group sizes and well-known teachers add to the price.

Are meals included in a yoga retreat? At most UK residential retreats, yes: meals and snacks are part of the price. Alcohol, treatments and travel usually are not. Check the inclusions list before you book.

Is a UK yoga retreat cheaper than going abroad? The retreat itself can cost about the same, but flights, transfers and extra nights often make an overseas retreat dearer in total. A UK retreat also saves the travel days, which matters on a short break.

Do I need to pay a deposit for a yoga retreat? Usually. Many retreats take a deposit to secure your place and the balance a few weeks before. Check whether the deposit is refundable and what happens if the retreat is cancelled.
