Ardencote Manor Spa: £25m Hiddenwell Resort Due Early 2027
By the Carefree Retreat team
Updated 2026
A big new spa resort for the Midlands leads this week, though you will have to wait until 2027 for it. Nearer term, there is a menopause spa day you can book from 10 October, a contrast suite on the Somerset Levels, and a leisure centre spa in Lancashire back open after repairs.
Hiddenwell’s £25m Ardencote Manor spa resort is due in early 2027
Hiddenwell, the group behind Hoar Cross Hall in Staffordshire and Eden Hall in Nottinghamshire, will relaunch Ardencote Manor in Warwickshire as a spa resort in early 2027 after a £25 million transformation, Travelling for Business reported on 8 October. It will be the group’s third UK destination, on 83 acres near Stratford-upon-Avon beside a three-acre lake.
The plans are large: a Spa Garden with four vitality pools, cold therapy and saunas; a room where snow cannons make real snow; a warm “Rainpool” for up to 20 people with rainfall and LED storm projections; a magnesium pool; juniper and Himalayan salt saunas, steam rooms and a theatre sauna; 31 treatment rooms plus three “touchless” rooms for sound therapy, salt flotation and light-based chronotherapy. There will be 68 bedrooms, including hot tub suites, three restaurants and three bars, and you will be able to visit for a spa day, a twilight session or an overnight stay.
No prices or exact opening date yet. If you want a feel for how the group runs its sites now, our Hoar Cross Hall guide and Eden Hall review cover its two existing spas. Until it opens, our West Midlands spa days list covers what is bookable nearby. Report at Travelling for Business.
Whittlebury Park launches a £189 menopause spa day, bookable from 10 October
Whittlebury Park in Northamptonshire has added an ESPA Mindful Menopause Spa Day for women going through perimenopause and menopause, the Northampton Chronicle reported on 29 September. It costs from £189 per person and centres on an 80-minute ESPA back, face and scalp massage with a personalised facial. The day also includes use of the resort’s Heat and Ice Experience and spa facilities, a two-course buffet lunch, a non-alcoholic “Hydrate Ritual” at the Nova Bar, and a bath and body oil to take home, which the resort values at £38. Booking opens on 10 October.
It is a pampering day rather than a clinical service, which is the honest way to read it: time off, a long massage and a heat circuit. For other spa days in the area, see spa days in Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire, and to compare its cost per hour against a cheaper day elsewhere, use our spa day value calculator. Report at the Northampton Chronicle.
Elements Contrast opens on the Somerset Levels, from £25 a session
A contrast therapy suite called Elements Contrast has opened at Elements Boutique Spa on the Windmill Retreat Estate at Middlezoy, near Bridgwater, the Somerset County Gazette reported on 27 September. It has a panoramic sauna looking over the Levels, an infrared room, cold plunge pools, bucket showers, a pebbled grounding area, a mineral hot tub and rest spaces.
Sessions last an hour for up to 10 people. Public sessions cost £25 or £40 per person depending on the option; private hire is £225 or £350. Membership runs at £75 a month for four sessions or £95 for eight, with a three-month minimum. If you want a full day with treatments instead, our Somerset and Bath spa days guide covers those, and outdoor spas in the UK lists others built around the same routine. Report at the Somerset County Gazette.
Spa on The Breck reopens in Poulton-le-Fylde: two hours for £20
The Spa on The Breck at Poulton Health and Fitness Centre reopened on 1 October after recommissioning works, Wyre Council announced, as the Blackpool Gazette reported on 5 October. The hydrothermal suite has a sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, salt steam room, aromatherapy room, foot baths, two monsoon showers and an ice fountain.
Pay-as-you-go visitors get two hours for £20, and members can add the spa to their membership for £20 a month. There are no treatments mentioned, so treat it as a thermal circuit rather than a spa day. Our Blackpool and Lancashire spa days guide has the hotel options if you want lunch and a treatment too. Report at the Blackpool Gazette.
